Describe the decision simply
Write down the decision being discussed without complicated terminology. Explain who it affects and what you hope will change. If the team describes the decision differently, align that understanding before moving to possible options.
Considered progress starts with a clearer picture.
Bring in the relevant perspectives
Ask the people closest to the work about details that may not appear in summaries. Gather their observations in one place and distinguish confirmed information from expectations. Not every question needs a lengthy report; a focused conversation can uncover an important piece of context.
Choose a step you can review
Agree on a clear next action and on the information that will help you review it later. Record the owner, the timing and anything still unresolved. A considered decision is not the end of thinking. It is the start of a course of action that can be followed and refined.
